A Story of Resilience and Recognition
Juneteenth marks more than just a date on the calendar. It’s a moment of historical reflection, a celebration of perseverance, and an acknowledgment of how far we’ve come—while recognizing there’s still more work to do in pursuit of equality and opportunity.
This story of delay, then triumph, mirrors many aspects of entrepreneurship, culture, and creative expression. It reminds us that timing may not always be immediate, but purpose and impact always find their moment.

On June 19, 1865, Union troops arrived in Galveston, Texas, with a long-overdue message: slavery had been abolished—two and a half years earlier.
Although the Emancipation Proclamation was issued in 1863, it took until that summer day in Texas for freedom to finally reach some of the last enslaved African Americans. That day became known as Juneteenth—a symbolic reminder that while progress may be delayed, it is never denied.
